If you are after an inexpensive Autumn update for your home, look no further with these hints and tips!

  • “Shop the house” for bits and pieces that are currently in other rooms that may work with a look or colour scheme. The large orange pot as the centre piece of my tablescape usually resides in a completely different room at my house, but its the perfect rich orange for my Autumnal table. I chose to mix the orange with pink plates for a more contemporary update. Orange works so well with many bases, but if it’s not your thing then reach for the paint tester pots and customise your pumpkins in any colour that puts a smile on your face.

  • Pumpkin time - As well as the real deal, look out for quirky twists on the original pumpkin. I found these felt pumpkins in https://uk.flyingtiger.com and love the texture they bring to this table setting. Real pumpkins look amazing sprayed/ painted or carved - check out https://www.pinterest.co.uk for heaps of ideas and of course the ‘gram is loaded with pumpkin patches and colourful delights to inspire you to get creative.

2. Up-cycle - these candlesticks were originally a drab goldy colour - I got them from https://www.poundland.co.uk for yes, you’ve guessed it.. £1 a pop! For an easy peasy up-cycle, I simply got crafty with a can of https://www.rustoleum.com spray paint I had lying around in the garage. After laying the candlesticks outside on some cardboard I transformed them into a much more impactful piece that worked with my orangey tones.. in a matter of minutes. The key for hunting in cheap pound shops is looking for nice shapes - you can then change the colour to anything your heart desires if the shape has potential.

SHOP THE HOUSE!
— My top tip!

I picked up a range of seasonal foliage from my local florist but you could also take your trusted secateurs and head outside for snippable branches to add to the look. Also there are so many branches, conkors, leaves and pine cones lying around at the side of public footpaths and woods right now - get collecting.. even better as it costs nothing!

I hope this has inspired you to get creative and enjoy a cosy home this Autumn!
